Bristol Workshop with Matt Hall aka @the13thsecond & Gareth Danks
Sat, 15 Mar 2025 10:00 - 16:00 GMT
Temple Meads Railway Station, Redcliffe, BS1 6QF
Join Matt Hall (@the13thsecond) and Gareth Danks (@garethdanks.photo) for an exciting street photography workshop in the vibrant streets of Bristol. This marks their first collaboration, and they are eager to share their valuable insights and expertise.
Get ready to view the world through Matt's creative lens and explore Gareth's extensive technical knowledge, establishing him as one of today’s most versatile photographers.
This group session will serve as an excellent introduction to the fundamentals of street photography, while also providing deeper insights into its more complex aspects, making it ideal for both beginners and seasoned photographers.
Workshop topics will include:
• Overcoming the fear of photographing strangers. • Recognising key moments, anticipating action, and effectively engaging with a scene. • Techniques for composition, framing, and subframing. • Methods for isolating your subject. • Guidance on camera settings tailored to various environments. • Adding layers of interest to your images. • Leveraging your surroundings to enhance your shots. • Incorporating textures for added depth.
By keeping the workshop groups small, Matt and Gareth can provide clear guidance and devote time to each participant, answering any individual questions they may have.
This is a fantastic opportunity to elevate your street photography skills, and it promises to be an unmissable workshop!
Participants will meet at Bristol's Temple Meads Railway Station and will follow a planned route through various locations, concluding around 4 PM.
Please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Bring your camera of choice (along with spare batteries) for an enriching experience. While there will be opportunities to grab refreshments along the way, we recommend bringing a bottle of water.
Space is limited to just 8 participants, so be sure to secure your spot!
